Shortbread

What is shortbread?

Shortbread, or shortie, is a traditional Scottish biscuit.
At it's core, we're talking butter, flour, and sugar, but we throw a little salt and vanilla in there too. Despite what you may think, shortbread is not bread, although it's origins started with extra bread dough being sweetened and dried out in the oven. The term "short" means crumbly, which is commonly used to describe pastries, pies, and tarts in the form of shortcrust. Shortbread is a very holiday focused treat, but we're doing our part to make it accessible year round.

our Signature shortbread

A Scottish family recipe we've developed into something special.
Our shortbread is soft, buttery, and delicious. All of our flavors emanate from Grandma Lena's base recipe. We've taken that, perfected the technique and ran with it, adding a little more finesse and flavor. When people try our shortbread, we've heard them say things like "Oh my god" and "Yeah, that's insane". We're so proud and happy to bring Scottish shortbread to Grand Rapids, Michigan! Slàinte mhath!
